STAMFORD, CT - From the JCC Sara Walker Nursery School:The children of the JCC Sara Walker Nursery School in Stamford, ranging in age from two to four years old, have chosen to donate the money they collected throughout the school year to help economically disadvantaged children in Stamford get new clothing and school supplies. Each week the nursery program children bring a donation ("tzedakah") to school and 3 times a year, together with their teachers, decide where the donation should go. Back to School Shop, Inc. was the recipient of this generosity as it has been several times in the past, receiving well over $1000. "We always try to present these young children with options that they can really understand, " says Anne Liss Johnson, the Managing Director of the Nursery School. "We explained to them that not every family is able to buy new clothes, shoes, coats and backpacks, and that through their donations they are helping other children in our community go back to school shopping like they do."
