Back to School Shop’s 12th Annual Event

Was a Resounding Success!

Over 450 children shopped for Brand New coats, sneakers, pants, shirts, hoodies, underwear, socks, hats (hand-made!), gloves, backpacks, school supplies, water bottles, lunch boxes and books! Ten local agencies were available to meet with families about services they could provide, an author/illustrator gave each child a signed copy of his new book, and parents were able to visit a mobile food pantry to choose groceries to take home. Nearly 250 community volunteers worked to make the event possible! What a day! Can’t wait until next year!

Thank You Volunteers!

Thank you to all of our volunteers for making the annual Back to School Shop event possible. Whether you were loading, unloading, setting up, breaking down, checking in, checking out, escorting children through the shop helping them try on shoes or any of the many other jobs-we couldn’t have done it without every one of you!

If you would like to receive our emails with volunteer and additional Back to School Shop information, please send your contact information to contact@backtoschoolshop.org.

Thank You Knitters!

We are overwhelmed by the generosity of community knitters who donated over 700 beautiful, warm, handmade hats for our Back to School Shop participants! We received enough hats to give every child a choice and were even able to provide some  hats for additional family members through the Japha Family Resource Center.

Don’t put your needles and yarn away! We’re hoping to offer the children hand-made hats again next year and we would love to have your help!
